As part of his postdoctoral research supervised by Tanguy Le Borgne, Nolwenn DELOUCHE’s mission is to scale the dynamics of reactive transport in unsaturated porous media. To this end, it is developing numerical simulation tools to understand the dynamics of reactive transport in partially saturated porous media. From experimental images, the flow is simulated by OpenFOAM as well as reactive transport by algorithms developed by Tomás Aquino. The heterogeneity of the medium, whether its structure (distribution of pore sizes and velocities) or the organization of the air/water phases within the medium as well as the chemical parameters (reaction rates) are taken into account.
